I submit that there is alot more this than was posted. The whole Vietnam thing happened at a time when the world 9and our view of it) were very different. While I wouldn't argue that Vietnam was the right war at the right time, I will say that a policy of "containment" served the U.S. well during the cold war...we did "win" that one.
As for Iraq, I don't necessarily agree with the General's comments but I do agree that planting democracy (no matter how imprefect) in the toilet that is the middle east cannot be anything but helpful to our long-term interests.
As Sec. Rice recently said (paraphrased) our policy for years was hands-off and tolerance in return for "stability" and cheap oil..that hasn't worked out too well. Lets try a new approach and "spread democracy".
Monumental changes like those proposed will take years and generations to take hold. If you believe that freedom, democracy and capitalism can improve the lives of untold millions, lets give this a chance to work.
With property prices what they are, do you think you could ever live in L.A. or anywhere else in California?

The last time I saw Alejandro was at La Zona Rosa in Austin. When he breaks out of his ballad mode and rocks, his band is among the tightest I've ever seen. He's recovered from his bout with hepatitus, good to hear he's back at it.
Sounds like this guy is a total wacko. How does he treat the kids?
You're only 25, life's too short to be miserable. If you can't work it out, you need to leave him. His actions are probably the result of him carrying on an affair...watch your back!
We have to take some responsibility as well. Too many people (including me) are living beyond their means. The CC companies are aiding and abetting this lifesyle. I learned my lesson the hard way that you have to learn to say "no" to the cc companies and "no" to spending what you don't have.

Hope we can git ya back to Texas! Dallas will be great for you. There is a huge (if overly pretentious) singles scene there. Can't wait to see how things work out for you.
